1 . Kerala Travel Pass is mandatory . If you didn’t get the pass better don’t travel.
2 . Karnataka Travel Pass. We applied but it was not approved. We used the acknowledgment to show the police.
3 . Tamilnadu E-Pass . ( not mandatory to travel from Bangalore to Kerala - but they are providing the pass online just give it a try).
4 . Keep the hard copy of all the passes , like 5 copies each .
** I’m sharing my own traveling experience from Bangalore to Kerala via WALAYAR check Post. With Karnataka and TN epass acknowledgements..
Requirements.
a . Wear a MASK. MASK is mandated, in all check posts Police will check whether you are wearing a mask or not.
b . keep a bottle of Sanitiser.
c . Disposable gloves .
d . Tissue Papers
e . Recharge FASTAG.
f. Download Arokya sethu APP
Food and Water
a. Keep required Food , Snack and Water.
b. Teabags , Flask .
** Very few hotels and shops are opened in REDzones , it's not recommended to take food from hotels in TN.
Traveling experience
- Totally 4 major checkpoints in Tamilnadu , after Atiballe exit at the first entry point of Tamilnadu ,Hosur, Dharmapuri and LnT Bypass coimbatore.
- Couple of checks were done near toll booths as well. If they ask for a pass just show the Kerala Pass.
- Use Premium gas station’s restrooms by the time you wear disposable gloves.
- Traffic was less , if you have good control on Wheels “ just enjoy your drive.” ;)
- Beware of Bikers on the Highway ,they often cross the roads from nowhere.
- Till Walayar you can reach without any issue.
At Walayar.
For a moment you will feel like you have reached Wagah Border :) because of the Media and Police. But don’t worry things will go smooth.
- At the first Gate they will examine your Pass in 2 stages , once you pass through the gate, they will guide you to the Walayar check post .
- At the Walayar check post there will be separate counters for senior citizens, Pregnant women and kids. (Along with them the bystander's examination will also be done).
- It will hardly take 15 mins for the check up and procedure for the entire family.
- Once you complete the procedure they will provide a Transportation Pass. Now you can travel inside Kerala.
- They will ask you to travel towards your Panchayat/Town . Once you reach your destination, you need to inform the health department and Panchayat officials, they will let you know whether you are in Home quarantine or in the Institutional quarantine.
Use The Transportation pass at the district entry and exit checkpoints.
When we reached home we informed the Panchayat official. Later we got calls from Health department and Municipality officials.
Now we are in Home quarantine for 14 days.
If you want food , you can inform them.
You will feel really safe in your state.
